Allan E. Sitterson Sr. bio

Allan E. Sitterson Sr. of Leesburg, VA passed away on February 28, 2020 at his home at the age of 74. Born on June 1, 1945 in Schenectady, New York to Cephas and Jean Sitterson. Allan was raised in Appleton, Wisconsin. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, from Marquette University, and his MBA, in Finance, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

He was a commissioned officer in the US Navy (1965-1976), and was a veteran of Vietnam.

Allan retired from the MITRE Corporation in 2010, as a consultant. In his retirement, Allan enjoyed going to the beach with his family. He loved to play Bridge, was a gold life master in 2017, he collected coins, and most of all playing with his great grandson Nicholas.

He leaves his family to cherish his memory including his wife, Betty Williams Tatum, childrens, Allan Sitterson Jr., Meg Sitterson, Shelagh Sitterson, Jean Haynes; step children, Beth Kincaid, David Tatum, and Mark Tatum; grandchildren Taylor Sitterson, Alayna Sitterson, Megan Kincaid, Chelsea Tatum, Amanda Tatum, Lauren Tatum; one great grandson Nicholas Allen. He is also survived by his sister Jean LaFata and his sister-in-law Margaret Scoggin.

A Memorial service to celebrate Allan’s life will be held on Thursday March 5, at 12 noon, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Cir, SE Leesburg, VA, 20175. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
