With great sadness, Doris Knief passed away December 13, 2023. She had a rare lymphatic condition all her life.

She was born in Santa Monica in 1938. She went to school, graduating from Pomona and the University of Oregon (with a keen interest in history).Later she came to our area to serve as a federal civil servant to several agencies.

Upon retirement, she was able to continue with great interest her love of birding, bridge, Civil War history, and volunteer work with her church.

A great friend of bridge, she played with good manners all the time. She was a very quiet and modest player that loved the game. She was a Ruby Life Master.

She is survived by her sisters; Mary and Erica
