Louise Sellers bio

Louise Kay Sellers, 85, died in Puyallup, Washington on Friday, May 5, 2023, from complications of dementia. Louise was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1937 to Henry W. and Elsie Endebrock. She grew up with her older sister, Elsie, and older brother William. During her childhood, she loved to dance, ice skate, swim, and play the piano and ukulele. She worked as a life guard during several summers.

Louise graduated from Frankford High School in 1955. She went on to college and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Penn State University in 1959. Later that same year, she married George A. Sellers, whom she met at Penn State. That would begin her adventure of living in states on both the east and west coast.

George was a geo-chemist for the US Geological Survey. Right after Louise and George got married, they drove across country to California so George could get his PhD at Caltech. While living in Pasadena, Louise worked at a local middle school teaching math and science. Louise stopped working when she had her daughter, Suzanne. A few years went by and the family relocated to Minnesota. Louise went to stay in Philadelphia with her parents, and had her daughter, Janine. Meanwhile, George finished up his work in Minnesota. The family moved to Maryland where Louise focused on raising her two girls. George's job took the family to Seattle, Washington. While living there, Louise worked as a church secretary. She heard about handbell choirs and with permission from the Minister, she ordered a set of handbells, started, and directed the new church handbell choir. The final family move would take her to Vienna, Virginia where she worked for a government contractor for many years.

Louise was a fun-loving mom who always looked for ways to enrich her daughters' lives. She was incredibly creative and talented, mastering every project she attempted. While in Seattle, Louise took an interest in making porcelain dolls. Performing every step of the process from beginning to end. She poured the molds, painted and assembled the dolls, and sewed their clothes. She entered her best creations in local Ceramics and Porcelain Art Shows, winning 1st place for most of her entries.

Bridge was one of her passions. She was an accredited Bridge teacher and had classes at different community centers in the area over many years. She also ran and directed two weekly Bridge games (started approx 1994) and as she loved to play, she found time to reach the rank of Ruby Life Master.

She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, George A. Sellers, her parents, Henry W. and Elsie Endebrock, her sister, Elsie Faunce, and brother William Endebrock.

She leaves behind her daughter Suzanne (Brian) of Puyallup, WA, her daughter Janine (Briant) of Marietta, GA, her three grandchildren, Mitchell, Veronika, and Calista, two sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
